Quoted from Las Vegas Review Journal,
September 1997:
An earthquake of 4.0 magnitude shook the Nevada Test Site
at 6:36am Friday, Sept 12, 1997. No damage was reported from the quake
which was centered about 28 miles east of Beatty, NV, according to the
seismological laboratory of the University of Nevada, Reno..
"It looks" (to Shundahai Network http://www.prop1.org/shundaha/shunindx.htm)
"like this last earthquake is right within the proposed Yucca Mountain
Nuclear
Waste Dump area. You can note from the map of earthquakes that the
NTS area has at least 7 earthquakes a week."

"It's in our backyard...its in our front yard.
This nuclear contamination is shortening all life.
We're going to have to unite as a people and say, "no more!"
We, the people, are going to have to put our thoughts together
to save our planet here.
We only have One Water...One Air...One Mother Earth."

A Large 6.9 Quake hits Afghanistan...5/30/98
BY Mitch Battros
Hi Folks,
I believe this to be part of the large quake scenario which will continue
through August 98'. Stay tuned for more information as it occurs. I will
try to get Jim Berkland - geologist (http://www.syzygyjob.com/index.shtml),
on the show in the next few
weeks to tell us more of our current conditions.
A Large 6.9 Quake hits Afghanistan...5/30/98
The following is from the United States Geological Survey, National
Earthquake Information Center:
Preliminary hypocenter for earthquake of
1998 May 30, AFGHANISTAN-TAJIKISTAN BORD
REG.: latitude 37.2 degrees north, longitude 69.9
degrees east, origin time 06 22 28.9 utc, depth normal, magnitude 6.9 ms.
No reports of damage or casualties have been received at this
time; however, this
earthquake may have caused substantial damage and casualties due to
its location and size. On February 4 a magnitude 6.1 earthquake
in this same area killed more than 2,300 people and
destroyed over 8,000 houses in the Rostaq area, Afghanistan.
