Many test are being made which point to a chlorophyll (wheatgrass) rich diet affecting the survival of experimental animals undergoing lethal doses of radiation. In 1950, Lourau and Lartigue reported that cabbage supplement (chlorophyll ) increases the resistance of guinea pigs to radiation.

If a person has an X-Ray, it is said that one class of wheatgrass juice a day will greatly reduce any effect caused by the X-Ray. This would also apply to harmful effects cause by gamma radiation on aircraft.

Wheatgrass plants are also said to absorb radiation.
